Bishnu Bajoria

Past International Director

Bishnu Bajoria was born at Bankura in West Bengal on 14th November 1945 in a highly respected family of businessmen and socially conscious philanthropists and joined Lionism in 1976 as Charter Member of Lions Club of Bankura, then in 322B. He became Club President in 1981-82 and became District Governor of undivided District 322C in 1988-89 and was also elected as Multiple Council Treasurer. He was adjudged as  he only 100% District Governor during the year in his Multiple. He was elected as International Director for 2008-10 at the International Convention at Bangkok in June 2008 and is serving on its Membership Development Committee.

He served twice as Multiple District Membership Chairman during 1989-92 and 1996-99. He also acted as National Coordinator Membership during 1998-2001. He was one of the 16 senior Lions invited by International President to participate in the high level Member;;; IiI! Summit for our Constitutional Area at Kathmandu in October 1996. He is known throughout the country for his work in the field of Membership and his monthly circulars on Membership Highlights have been very popular and widely appreciated. He served as MDCCI Treasurer in 2006-07 & 2007-08.

Mohan Lal Tulsian

Past International Director

Lion Mohanlal Tulsian is a past International Director of International Association of Lions Clubs. He joined Lionism in 1972 and has since served the organisation in many positions. He has been Chairman, National Sight First Committee of India.

In recognition of his meritorious services. Lion Tulsian has received a number of awards. These include 100% District Governors Award, two extension awards, Highest Commendation Award, six International President’s Awards and the prestigious “Ambassador of Goodwill” Award. Lion Tulsian is the first Melvin Jones Fellows of his Multiple and holds 10 Diamonds Progressive Pins.

Lion Tulsian has made significant contributions to the welfare of the community through a variety of involvements and initiatives. In 1986-87, “HOPE-86” a musical extravaganza organised by Lion Tulsian, netted US $ 5,00,000 a part of which is still being utilised for social services through Lions Welfare Trust.

Prem Lahoty

Past International Director

Lion Prem Lahoty is a past international director of International Association of Lions Clubs. Lion Lahoty joined Lionism in 1972 and is a Life Member of his home club Lions Club of Calcutta Midtown, District 322B1.

Lion Lahoty has served the Association in several capacities. As District Governor in 1984-85 he mooted the idea of joint projects between city and rural clubs successfully implementing the twinning principle. At the national level, Lion Lahoty has served as Chairman of Lions Co-ordination Committee of India, the apex body of Indian Lions, now renamed as MDCCI.

As international director, Lion Lahoty served on the Board as the vice-chairman of the Public Relations Committee. Back at home, Lion Lahoty  made significant efforts to strengthen the organisation through information technology. He launched two portals  viz, lionsnet.org and indialions.org.

A. P. Singh

Past International Director and Board Apointee

Lion A.P. Singh, popularly known as “A.P”, joined Lionism in 1984 and has held various offices at the club and district level.  Lion Singh served as District Governor of the undivided District 322B and in the following year 2001-2002, he was elected as the Multiple Council Chairman for Multiple District 322.  He was elected as the International Director for the year 2004-06.

Past Director Lion A.P. Singh during his tenure as a Director during 2004-06 served as Chairperson of Finance and Head Quarters Committee.  He was thereafter appointed as Chairperson of a special Task Force to study and implement ways and means to rationalize operation costs at LCI.

Past Director Singh was the Chairman of the DG Elect schooling at the 90th International Convention at Chicago in July 2007, and also served as the Chairperson of the 20K Team during 2007-08.

12.30 PM of 24th April 2011 was the finest hour for the lions of MD 322. For the first time ever, name of a lion from MD322 was proposed for the post of 2nd International Vice President. The Lion was PID Arvind Pal Singh.
